Some animals do not eat dinner so much as inhale it. Thirty seconds, bowl empty, and then it comes straight back up on the rug.
This is a bowl with a maze moulded into the base. Food sits in the grooves, so they have to work around the ridges instead of taking it in one go. A two minute meal instead of a twenty second one.
Why it helps
- Slower eating means less gulped air, which is what causes most of the bringing-it-back-up
- It gives them something to do, which settles anxious eaters
- Vets often suggest slow feeders for dogs that bolt their food
The details
- Large capacity, suits cats and most dogs
- Anti-slip base, so it stays put instead of travelling across the kitchen
- Rinses out easily
Worth knowing
Give them a few days. Some animals are briefly offended by the idea and need a meal or two to work it out.
